Rev Clare Gromoll

Rev. Clare Gromoll serves as Pastor with St. Croix United Church in Bayport. She grew up in the small town of Eagle River, WI and went on a Rotary Youth Exchange to the Dominican Republic. Clare pursued comparative literature and religious studies at Beloit College. She moved to Texas and then WI, working for several years in outdoor ministry and bilingual public education. New to the United Church of Christ as a young adult, Clare felt called to ordained ministry and graduated from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities in 2014. She served a church in St. Paul for nine years before accepting the call to St. Croix United Church (then People’s Congregational Church) in 2021. Clare enjoys time with her children (Sam-10, Jonah-8), exercise, reading, music, decluttering, and visiting family in Northern WI. She describes herself as optimistic, curious, assertive, appreciative, and open-minded. Inspired by a progressive understanding of the Christian faith, Clare supports the people of St. Croix United Church in their mission: “Moved by deepening relationships with God and each other, we unite with the wider community to transform our values into action.”
