David L. Wettergren, Ed.D. My classification reflects my many years as the Superintendent of the Stillwater Area Schools, now retired. I have been a Rotarian for nearly 50 years. I began my Rotary journey in Coon Rapids, MN, where I also served as Club President, and I have been a member of the Stillwater Rotary since 1987. I joined Rotary and stayed in Rotary because I see my involvement as a form of public service. I am passionate about public service, believing that service is the price one pays for living in a community. Over my long life, I have had the pleasure of chairing the boards of many community organizations including the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce, Lakeview Hospital, United Way, St Croix Valley Foundation and the Tozer Foundation. I am the husband of Stillwater Rotarian, Gretchen Stein. Together our blended family includes five children and 8 grandchildren. I am particularly proud of my advocacy for female inclusion in Rotary. I have always been a proponent of equity. A fun fact to share is that my father, Bill Wettergren, was also a lifelong Rotarian. |
