Stillwater Noontime Rotary seeking Spotlight Organizations to Benefit from Upcoming Taste of the Valley Event!
Each January, the Stillwater Noontime Rotary presents Taste of the Valley. This year the event will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Heights Hall & Club. This community event is designed to celebrate our wonderful area restaurants. Nearly a dozen local restaurants provide small plate items to over 200 participants in a cocktail party atmosphere. Participants vote on the best food items in several categories. It also includes a silent and live auction and a higher end wall of wine. It is not only great fun, but the event raises money for important local non-profit organizations. We call these our “Spotlight” organizations. Past events have been able to raise as much as $25,000. This results in grants from $5000 up to $25,000 depending on the number of Spotlight organizations selected. The beneficiaries from the event are selected each year based on criteria that include:
The organization cannot have received funds from this event in the past 3 years.
The organization must be a stable, well-established entity.
The organization must have a specific project or service need for these funds and can demonstrate how these funds can make a significant impact to advance this project or service.
The organization’s mission, project and/or service must be consistent with our Rotary values.
The organization must be willing to engage with the Rotary in the fund-raising/ticket selling associated with the event.
The project must support children, youth and families, community health, the arts, the environment, special needs individuals, or people without basic needs for food, housing, or healthcare

We are excited to announce that our district will be presenting One Rotary Summits on September 13 and September 18 this Rotary year. These summits emphasize the relationship among Membership, Public Image, and Humanitarian Service (the latter especially through The Rotary Foundation) and are a unique and effective way to help club members understand and become truly engaged in the opportunities offered by Rotary. Please see the fliers or the district website for more information.
