Nominations for 2021-22 District Governor

Fellow Rotarians,

I need your help.  In fact, the whole District needs your help!

One of the roles of the Immediate Past District Governor in our District is to be Chair of the District Nominating Committee…better known as the group that will nominate the next District Governor!

The role of District Governor is a very rewarding one.  Yes, it does require a fair amount of time and energy, but the rewarding sense of satisfaction and enjoyment definitely outweighs the cost…especially with a great District Leadership Team to lend support along the way.

As Chair of the Nominating Committee, I unofficially and informally deputize all of you to serve on our “2021-22 District Governor Search Team!”

What does your role entail?  It’s to identify and encourage any potential candidate to consider the role.  Minimum requirements for the DG position, generally stated, are that he or she be a member in good standing who has served as president of a club for a full term.

I ask that you think of your past presidents and ask yourself, “Who has been an effective leader in our club?  Who should I encourage to consider running for the 2021-22 Governor’s role?”

Encourage your prospective nominee.  Stimulate their ability to see the future of our District.  Appeal to their sense of leadership and service, and to their passion for making a difference through Rotary.  And, if you aren’t comfortable in your “sales ability”, urge them to talk to any former District Governor or pass the name along to me for follow up.  I would be glad to answer any questions!

All nominations for District Governor must be received in the District Office no later than Monday, October 8, 2018.  The Nominating Committee will meet to interview interested Rotarians on Saturday, October 13th at Family Means in Stillwater.

Thanks in advance for being a part of our “2021-22 District Governor Search Team”, and for helping identify the best candidate possible to help us continue to Make a Difference and Be the Inspiration!

 Thanks,

 Kyle Haugen
