Selian Needs and Helping

Selian serves 40,000 patients a year for a little less than $1000 a day for the whole work. Half of this comes from patient fees and the other half, well, its concerned and loving supporters like you who make the difference.

$1000 runs the hospital for a day. During that day the $1000 will pay for 100 patients in the hospital, five major operations, 150 patients in the outpatient department, take 10 X-rays, and perform 100 lab tests! Plus, pay the salaries, electricity, and overhead!

$100 straightens the legs of a child crippled with fluorosis. A woman condemned to be an outcast because of a birth injury and be restored to wholeness for a cost of $200.

Selian also regularly receives donated goods and equipment. Mainly these are handled by Selian’s supporters at Global Health Ministries. They are very able to advise on what is useful and what is not and then deliver quality goods to Selian on a regular basis.

Monetary gifts are sought most helpful as they provide the hospital with a great deal more flexibility. Financial support for the hospital can be made directly be check. Donations for tax exempt status in the United States can be directed through any of the following supporting agencies of the hospital: C-6 Denver, Global Health Ministries, Operation Bootstrap Africa, The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America –Division for Global Mission.
